A Romano-British cremation was discovered, together with a number of grave goods, at a depth of four and a half feet by a labourer in 1855 while digging in the Rectory garden at Weston Turville (SP 858104). He discovered a Roman amphora which had been used as a cinerary urn and which he broke into fragments. Finds which have recently been re-assembled and which will be displayed in the Bucks County Museum when restored include:- 2nd C. Samian ware, 2 bronze enamelled brooches and glassware (both dated to the 2nd C.), fragments of a mirror and a bone pin. None of the surviving grave goods showed signs of burning so it would appear probable that they were placed directly in the pit with the ashes, the actual cremation taking place elsewhere (B4 and B9).
