SERIES OF 4 QUARRY PITS IN LINE, RUNNING DOWN SLOPE, 2 PERHAPS CONNECTED. PERHAPS CHALK OR MARL PITS. 3RD ONE DOWN HAS BEEN USED AS A POND, PRESUMABLY DELIBERATELY LINED WITH CLAY & USED FOR CATTLE GRAZING IN WOOD; IT MAY PREDATE WOOD (B11).
