Description
A curvilinear woodland boundary comprising a bank, 3m in width and 0.5m high, and a ditch, 2.8m wide at a maximum depth of 0.4m. The boundary clearly overlies the earlier field system but is cut through by two hollow ways of medieval date, suggesting that the boundary is an early component of the woodland landscape. It is shown on all cartographic sources dating from 1698. A further length of similar boundary is visible to the north-east running at right angles to this feature. It is not clear whether they are parts of one boundary (the corner of which has been destroyed) or two separate features (B1-3).
Boundary is clearly visible in Chilterns Conservation Board LiDAR dataset.
