SEVERAL SMALL QUARRIES DUG INTO THE HILLSIDE, ABOVE & ALONGSIDE THE ROAD, WITH ACCESS FROM THE ROAD. PROBABLY CHALK PITS, THE CHALK BEING USED FOR AGRICULTURAL PURPOSES. LONG DISUSED (B11).
