Description

IN FIELD CENTRED AT SP 779 0930 IS A COMPLEX OF HOLLOW WAYS & DITCHES, SOME AT LEAST REPRESENTING FORMER SMALL FIELD BOUNDARIES: OTHER EARTHWORKS IN THIS FIELD ARE PROBABLY THE RESULT OF QUARRYING. THE FIELD IMMEDIATELY NW OF THE DINTON HERMIT PUBLIC_HOUSE HAS AGAIN BEEN MUCH DISTURBED BY QUARRYING, PRESUMABLY FOR LIMESTONE FROM WHICH MOST OF THE OLDER HOUSES IN THE HAMLET ARE BUILT (B2).
