Description

REFERENCE IN 1529-1538 TO BRICK BEING SENT FROM HAMPTON COURT TO TAPLOW FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE LIME-KILNS. PRESUMABLY THESE WERE THE MAIN SUPPLIERS OF LIME TO HAMPTON COURT DURING HENRY VIII'S REBUILDING & MUCH OF IT MUST HAVE GONE INTO THE PREPARATION OF BRICK MORTAR (B3).
