Description

Dimensions - Length 370cm, Width 240cm.
Plan Form - RECTANGULAR.
BURIAL CHAMBER DUG INTO GROUND LEVEL BELOW MOUND. EARTHFAST & OAK-LINED. ON TOP OF CHAMBER HAD BEEN LAID A FRANKISH ANGON. INSIDE WERE LAVISH GRAVE GOODS & SLIGHT SKELETAL REMAINS: VERTEBRAE, JAW FRAG WITH TOOTH. BODY HAD BEEN DRESSED IN RED WOOL TUNIC TRIMMED WITH GOLD BRAID (B11-12,B17).
