Description

Gasometer present on the 1876 to 1899 OS maps, indicating a private gasworks to
Langley Lodge/St. Huberts house. Survival not known (B4).
'Gasworks' marked on 1876 and 1899 1st and 2nd edition 25-inch OS maps. Gasometer also shown on 25-inch maps 1925 and 1945 25-inch OS maps (B5).
The former gas-works on the rear of the northern garden wall are now (2011) much altered although there is some surviving original brickwork and flooring. Now in use as gardeners' stores. See report for detail and photo (B7).
