Description

Halton House was built for Alfred Freiherr de Rothschild between 1880 and 1883. Like other members
of the Rothschild Family he installed a gasworks to light his house. Assumed the gasworks built at same time as the house. Nothing visible survives (B26).
Gasworks and 2 gas holders shown on 1899 2nd edition 25-inch OS map. Demolished by 1945 as not shown on RAF AP or 1955 6-inch OS map (B27).
