Description

VARIOUS ARTEFACTS FOUND IN THE RIVER THAMES NEAR HEDSOR IN THE YEARS UP TO 1920. THESE COVERED THE PERIOD FROM NEOLITHIC TO SAXON (B1-8).
APPROX NGR WORKED OUT FROM LOCATIONAL INFORMATION IN B1-8 (B9).



Three chipped flint celts, a Thames pick, four EIA iron spearheads, a bone dagger and a Saxon bowl have been found in and near the River Thames near Hedsor (SU 9086).
The bone dagger is similar to those in the Layton collection, Brentford public library, which may date from the Bronze age. (1)
