Description

J COLLINS & WORKMEN 1751 DISCOVERED A ROMAN PAVEMENT, & TOOK UP SEVERAL SQUARE BRICKS, ABOUT AN INCH SQUARE, OUT OF THE MARGIN OF THE PAVEMENT, OF DIVERS COLOURS. THE PAVEMENT WAS LEFT INTACT IN 1751 & THERE IS NO SUBSEQUENT RECORD (B1). SUGGESTS ROMAN MOSAIC: SITE OF VILLA OR BATHHOUSE? (B3).
