Description

MAPPING OF FIELDS IN B1 FROM OBLIQUE AP'S?: VERTICAL AP'S SHOW IT TO BE INACCURATE. LITTLE TRACE OF FIELDS ON GROUND: NOW HEAVILY PLOUGHED. LYNCHETS COULD BE 'CELTIC FIELDS' (B2). FIELDS RE-PLOTTED. WHEN COMPARED WITH EARLY MAPS, MANY SHOWN TO BE POST-MEDIEVAL. SOME MAY BE EARLIER BUT NOT PRE-ROMAN (B6).
Possible 'Celtic' field system identified by Dyer is actually the remains of a medieval field system including lynchets, field banks and terraces (B7)
