Church consists of nave, side aisles and cross aisle between nave and chancel. Central square tower with small spire (B2).

Grade I. C12 north transept window. C13 nave and aisles, chancel arch widened. Mid C14 tower, chancel and south aisle rebuilt. C15 clerestorey and south porch. Flint and stone, slate and lead roofs. Mediaeval parish church of Chesham. Latin cross plan with tower over crossing, clerestorey to nave, south porch C15. Considerably restored 1868-9 by G G Scott. Glass in 2 small windows by Burne-Jones. Several monuments of interest: to John Cavendish, 1617; to Nicholas Skottowe by John Bacon, 1792; with obelisk in south transept, to Mary Whichcote, 1726. South aisle brass, 1670. Room over porch. VCH, III, 214-5 (B10).
