IN 1171 THOMAS BASSET APPEARS TO HAVE OBTAINED A LIFE GRANT OF WYCOMBE MANOR. IN 1203 MANOR SPLIT - ALAN BASSET RECEIVED PERMANENT GRANT OF PART, HELD OF THE HONOUR OF WALLINGFORD. REVERTED TO CROWN IN 1326 ON EXECUTION OF HUGH LE DESPENSER. FROM 1437 KNOWN AS BASSETSBURY. TO 1483 DUCHY OF LANCASTER THEN DEAN & CANONS, ST GEORGE'S, WINDSOR (B1).
