Description

Dimensions - Length 7620mm, Width 990mm, Depth 380mm.
MADE OF SOLID OAK LOG. 3 TRANSVERSE RIBS/SEATS. BOW POINTED & CURVES UPWARD, SQUARE STERN. SIDES GONE. FOUND IN THAMES NEAR MARLOW ROAD STATION (B1-2).
APPROX AT NGR (B3).

REF TO 2 BOATS, 1 AT MARLOW, ERRONEOUS (B3,B11).
DRAWN 1872, LOST BY 1880 (B12).

A dugout canoe 25' 3" x 3' 4" found in the Thames near the Marlow Road Railway Station. Now lost.Classified Group IIIb IA/RB (2). (B19 and 20)

Mr. Underhill is of the opinion that the station referred to (the only one near the river) is that at Bourne End (SU 894872) (B21).
