Description
Wingrave was a decoy airfield for RAF Wing, operating as a night-time decoy ('Q' site). The only documentary reference to the 'Q' site was on 12th August 1942 (B1).
The decoy was a Q 'Drem' type layout with NE-SW aligned approach funnel and flarepath (B2).
The detailed layout of the decoy airfield is not clear. B1 records the NGR as centred on SP860173.
