Description
Further Iron Age settlement remains found during evaluation trial trenching carried out by Thames Valley Archaeological Service in May 2015 in advance of proposed construction of a new house. 6 ditches, 5 pits and a possible large quarry pit were identified, although 3 ditches were not excavated whilst 2 pits and the quarry pit had only very limited sampling and were undated. The features which had more than minimal sampling (2 or 3 ditches and 3 pits) all had Middle-Late Iron Age pottery in the fills. See report for detail (B4).
