Description

Watching brief carried out in February 2013 by Thames Valley Archaeological Services during service trenching in the churchyard north of the church recorded 5 human burials all within grave cuts and three of which were also associated with coffin nails, suggesting burials within coffins. The two uncoffined burials were relatively shallow at 0.62m deep and were close to the church, whilst the three coffined burials were deeper at 1m-1.2m deep and were close to the churchyard boundary.
