Description

A marble plaque measuring 76cm(h) by 81cm(w). There is a coat of arms above the text and the badge of the Royal Artillary below. Commemorates Lieut James Henry Moriarty RGA. Lieut Moriarty was the only son of the vicar of the parish and served in France, was mentioned in despatches and was killed with the 18th seige battery in 1915 on 12 October 1915 at Bethune. There is also a battlefield cross dedicated to Lieut Moriarty in the church (B1).
