Description

A wooden battlefield cross or marker commemorate LT COLONEL GEOFFREY CHARLES TASKER KEYES VC MC CROIX DE GUERRE of THE ROYAL SCOTS GREYS AND 11TH (SCOTTISH) COMMANDO, BORN 18TH MAY 1917 and KILLED 18TH NOVEMBER 1941 LEADING THE RAID ON GENERAL ROMMELS HQ, SIDI RAFA LIBYA. The original battlefield cross was erected by the German Army following his death (B1).
