Description

THE PRESENT 'WALTON COURT' IS A LATE VICTORIAN BUILDING IN THE DOMESTIC STYLE, WITH GABLE ENDS. UNDOUBTEDLY OVERLIES THE FORMER MANOR HOUSE. ITS IMMEDIATE PREDECESSOR IS SHOWN ON A WATERCOLOUR OF 1867 (B1,PLATE I); A SURVEY OF 1651 SHOWS A STILL EARLIER MANOR HOUSE ON THIS SITE (B9).
