Description
Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century cast iron milepost on the B4011 in Long Crendon village. Recorded as present in 2010 on Milestones Society website on Thame to Blackthorn route National ID number BU_THBC02. On Bicester Road by wall by Perrots Farm. Now outside No 45 Bicester Road opposite Blane Close, on OS. No dimensions recorded. Inscription: left: 'BICESTER 12' : right: 'THAME 2'. [ Detailed description, location and photograph ] (B1).
In handwritten notes under ' MILE STONES [N.} Thame to Blackthorn.' NGR: Centre L Crendon. Parish: ditto Long Crendon. No number on 1" OS 1835. Information: Not seen (T. 2 B. 12 ) but see above. [ Handwritten notes consulted ] (B2 ).
