DISTINCT TRACES OF MOAT (B2).
SUGGESTION MOAT TO KEEP CHURCH DRY (B3).
MOATED SITE NW OF CHURCH PLOUGHED OUT. DRY MOAT-LIKE DITCH CENTRED SP 8390 0933 STILL VISIBLE (B5).
IN FIELD TO S AT SP 8390 0934 ARE 3 SIDES OF ?MOAT, 4TH SIDE UNDER HEDGEROW (B6).
Substantial 'L-shaped' ditch visible as a cropmark to the south-east of the site of St Mary's Church. May have been part of the medieval moat recorded as having existed at this site. Still clearly extant on early aerial photographs of the 1940s (B11).

Cropmark of a double-ditched L-shaped feature thought to be the remains of a medieval moat visible on aerial photographs at SP 8391 0934. The ditches are also marked as earthworks on a number of OS maps and referred to in descriptions of the medieval church to the north and remains of a possible moat to the north of the church (NRHE record 344217) (29).
