Description

Dimensions - Length 70mm.
PANTHER COWRIE PLACED BY WAIST OF 3RD SKELETON. THIN PIECE OF IRON WITH TURNED BACK ENDS FOUND ABOVE PROBABLY FIXED INTO SHELL TO SUSPEND IT. SPECIES NATIVE TO RED SEA (B1).
NO OTHER COWRIE SHELLS KNOWN FROM S BUCKS SITES. POSSIBLY INDICATES LATE BURIAL (B2). DISCUSSION OF USE OF COWRIE SHELLS (B6).
