Summary

Barn and stable at west end of farmyard range 40 metres to south of Colstrope Farmhouse. The barn is dated 1739 and the stable was added in the late 18th century. The plinth and west gable end of the barn are of flint, the side walls are timber framed with weatherboarding and the roof is of plain tiles. The barn is of three bays and was formerly aisled on the south side. The stable is of flint with brick dresings and a tiled roof.

Description

Grade II. Barn and stable. Barn is dated 1739 on post; stable is later C18. Barn has flint plinth and W. gable end, with timber framed and weatherboarded side walls. Plain tile roof. 3 bays, formerly aisled on S. side. Central cart doors. Brick vent slits in gable end. Queen post trusses with braced tie-beams. Stable is of flint with brick dressings and tiled roof. Central stable door, flanking windows; 2 gabled eaves-line dormers, both boarded, the right with dove entries (B4).
