Description

TOTAL OF 14 CHALK-BUILT FURNACES FOUND ON SITE. DIFFERENT FORMS, BUT MOST BASED ON T-SHAPE. PROBABLY CORN DRIERS: CORN FOUND ADHERING TO STOKE-HOLE WALLS. 3 SMALL FURNACES HAD NEARBY PANS OF POTSHERDS ?PERHAPS FOR IRONWORKING. SLAG FOUND ON SITE (B1).
