DESCRIBED AS A MINOR ROMAN SETTLEMENT (B1). INTERMEDIATE STATION AT FLEET MARSTON ON AKEMAN STREET. SITE MARKED BY HEAVY POTTERY SCATTER (B2). PROB POSTING STATION LATE C1-EARLY C2 (B3). SITE SPREADS DOWN TO PUTLOWES ITSELF (B4). NOTED AS CLAUDIAN FORT (B5).
