Description

'Lodge' shown on 1st edition 25-inch OS map and subsequent OS maps. A building is also shown at this location on the early 19th century OS surveyors draft 2-inch drawings. Lodge building and gate piers are still standing although appear to be in a delapidated condition (B10).
Notice of auction published in The Times of 4th July 1894 mentions 'The mansion….is approached from the main road by a picturesque lodge entrance through a very pretty and well kept drive.' (B7).
