AT LEAST 23 HANDAXES, INCLUDING UNFINISHED EXAMPLES, FOUND DURING CONSTRUCTION OF A412. MOST IN MARSDEN COLLECTION, BRITISH MUSEUM, & 3 IN OXFORD UNIV MUSEUM MARKED 'DENHAM 5.5.28' PROB FROM THIS SITE AS THE DATE IS CORRECT FOR THE ROAD CONSTRUCTION (B1-6).
Site mentioned in English Rivers Palaeolithic Survey, wooded roadsides (B9-10).
