Missing probable eighteenth or nineteenth century cast iron milepost on the A41 in the parish of Ludgershall. Recorded as missing on Milestones Society 2002 survey website not present on udated website in 2010 so no new National ID number recorded there but if in sequence should be BU_LCB49. Missing on Aylesbury to Bicester route before 1960. Inscription would have been: right: London 49 : top: Ludgershall Parish: left: To Aylesbury 11 To Bicester 5. Not on current OS map. Confirmed by handwritten notes on OS 1'' map (1835) was in Bucks County Museum now in Centre for Bucks Studies. Museum number 22 sheet XXII on page 2 of notes. Inscription : London 49 Bicester 5. On Aylesbury towards Bicester (H3) route. In same notes under " H3 Milestones on Ground". On Bryant 1825 and OS 1" 1835 number on 1" OS 48. Not present only milestone left on this route sketched NGR 646 199 SMR number 1361100000.
