Description
Eighteenth or nineteenth century milestone on A4 in Taplow west of railway bridge. Recorded as present in 2001 on Milestones Society website on London to Maidenhead route national ID number BU_LB25. 42cm wide, 42cm deep, 67cm high, on south side of road beside petrol station, opposite PH, on well kept grass verge. Inscription left: MAIDENHEAD 1: front: LONDON 25: right: SLOUGH 4. On back can still read on right side 'XXV Miles to Hyde Park corner'. [Detailed description, location and photograph] (B1).
