Description

Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century milestone on A4010 under tall hedge between Princes Risborough and High Wycombe. Close to junction with Lee Road. 38 inches high. Top 14 by 12 inches deep, bottom 12 by 9 inches. Inscription front: LONDON 35 ? WYCOMBE 6 ? R SBORO 2 1/2 ?. Trig point on top. [Drawings, location and photographs] (B1).
Reported as missing on updated Milestones Society survey website in 2003 on A4010 on Wycombe to Aylesbury route national ID number BU_WYAY06. No parish GPS or dimensions recorded but on current OS map opposite Rutherglen. Inscription at centre: 'London/35/ Wycombe/6/ Aylesbury/10/ Risboro 2/1/2'. [Further description] (B2).
