Description
A hall-like structure approx 23m X 13m internally and aligned ENE-WSW identified as a rectangular ditched anomaly (feature 4007) during geophysical survey carried out in April 2008 by Wessex Archaeology (B16).
Trial trenching by Oxford Archaeology in November 2009 revealed the rectangular ditch to be 2.24m wide and 0.5m deep, with three fills, the lowest of which had slumped into one side of the ditch and was possibly from an external bank. The lower two fills included finds of Neolithic worked flint and burnt flint. See report for detail (B21).
