Description

Bourton House damaged, its fishponds and dovecote raided etc, by Parliamentary troops, 18th August 1642. House dilapidated in 1755 (B1,B18).
?C18 MAP (COPY CAS FILE) SUGGESTS HOUSE ONCE STOOD ON N SIDE OF BUCKINGHAM-BLETCHLEY ROAD (AT NGR)(B8-9; SEE CAS CARD FOR DETAILS). INVESTIGATION IN JULY 1980 FOUND NO TRACE OF HOUSE (B13).
