Description

Three barns, one adjoining the gateway at the N end of the house, the other two forming an L-shaped block W of the house, were built probably in the 17th century. The walls are almost entirely timber-framed and weatherboarded, but one barn is partly of brick; the roofs have large queen-post trusses with curved brackets and wind-braces, and are covered with tiles (B2).
C17, much restored and refaced with vertical boarding. Six bays; queen post trusses (2 removed). North side with central projecting entrance with hipped gable. Modern ceiling at tie beam level. RCHM I, p 119 (B3).
Two barns to W of house demolished sometime between 1900 and 1927. NGR to remaining, listed barn.
