Description

A 17th century timber bridge is shown on John Shawe's map of 1602 taking the Oxford Road across the River Colne at Uxbridge Lock, and a 'wood bridg' is marked on John Ogilby's London to Buckingham and Banbury strip map published in 1675 in 'Britannia'. High Bridge was rebuilt in brick or stone in 1783, and in brick and concrete in 1938 (B1).
