Description
A small quantity of Romano-British pottery (39 sherds) and roof tile fragments were recovered from topsoil/subsoil deposits across the site. A small distribution can be seen along either side of the Rusholt brook, but the majority of the material was found in Fields 4 and 6, to the immediate west of the River Colne. The three positively identified pieces of Roman ceramic building material also came from this area. One piece of Roman imbrex was found in test pit 9 and two further fragments of a similar date on fabric grounds from test pits 103 and 23. (B1)
Roman flagon dating to AD 63 (B2)
