Description

Strip and record excavation carried out in June 2006 by Northants Archaeology during groundworks for new stable block recorded a flat-based oval rubbish pit 2.5m long, 1.6m wide and 0.28m deep with post-medieval pottery and tile in the fill, and a shallow pond at least 7.6m long, 2.7m wide and 0.75m deep. The pond appeared to have been deliberately back-filled and the lower fill contained late medieval pottery and part of a Tudor candlestick (B5).
