Description

Grade II. Walled kitchen gardens built 1787-9, overlying the northern part of an earlier formal water garden probably laid out in the 1720s. Kitchen gardens comprise 5 brick-walled compartments with a slip to the south, a 19th century gardener's cottage, ruinous sheds and glasshouses. Estate accounts also record three stove houses and a hot house. [Detailed description](B7).
