Description

1 irregular medieval rubbish pit 1.1m X 0.65m and 0.35m deep containing stratified sherds of 12th to 14th century pottery and fragments of animal bone, excavated by Babtie during watching brief in walled garden during April and May 1999. A small amount of additional medieval pottery was recovered as residual finds within later features in the walled garden and as unstratified finds during stripping for a new access road to the south and southwest (B8).
