Description

Grade II listed typical brick and timber chair workshop originally built in the 1880s and used for chairmaking by G. Holt & Sons. This firm concentrated on caning and rushing work and used several outworkers. The workshop later became the Wycombe Cane & Rush works but was closed down in 2004. Small yard accessed through gated opening. Assumed that the dwelling to the south was originally occupied in connection with the workshop. Photograph with listing details shows Denner Hill stone setts at the yard entrance but in 2004 this area was tarmac - not known if the setts have been removed or simply covered over. Listed under L/BL6 Ref. S.7 nos 11/12 1975. Report and photograph (B1).
Building being converted to flats [2006](B2).
