Description

LIPSCOMB (1847) REFERS TO 'MANY HUMAN BONES' HAVING BEEN 'DUG UP AT VARIOUS TIMES' AT THE 'ENTRENCHMENTS OR MILITARY EARTHWORKS' ON DENHAM HILL (B1).
HOWEVER, THE OS CARD SAYS THE ONLY EARTHWORKS VISIBLE ON DENHAM HILL ARE THOSE OF A MINOR MEDIEVAL SETTLEMENT ON SW SLOPES OF HILL (B2).
