Description
Grade II. Southern lodge of a pair of estate lodges, early C19. Red brick. Pitched roof originally slated but now with corrugated iron; projecting braketed eaves, those to gable ends returning to appear as broken pediments. 2 Storeys 2 windows. Flat arch to entrance with plain plank door. Segmental arch to fictive painted sash to right. First floor with similar but smaller fictive sash above door and blocked window to right. Western façade to road with central round arched shallow recess having a round arched window with fictive painted radial pattern head (lower portion boarded up). Above, sash with segmental arch. Eastern façade has central round-arched niche and painted fictive sash above. Interior with original timbers to first floor and roof and stair to upper floor. Attached cast iron railings with spearhead finails and open work box gate piers and standard; southernmost standard with pineapple finial on scrolled spiggot and coat of arms to rear (B1).
