Description

The English Heritage Survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes the site of a coniferous plantation in the remains of tree stumps. The double avenue of elm and beech is shown on the 1843 estate map, but by the 1880 OS map the area is planted as a mixed woodland (1).
