Description

The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes several banks lying in the corner of two fields. They range in length from 18m to 4m and are 1m wide and 0.4m high. The banks have standing trees and tree stumps, and a triangular tree planting is shown on the 1843 estate map. The ridges are probably connected with this planting and may have been to help drainage as the area is close to a spring line (20).
