Description
The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes a linear bank running from SP66903715 to SP67673824. The bank is 1m wide and 0.4m high and trees are planted on it or very close to it. Part of the longest bank has the appearance of a plough headland, and is recorded as such [see CAS 06360]. The straight alignment of the features, however, argues against this explanation for all of these features. The alignment would suggest they are associated with the layout or planting of the avenues in the 18th and (probably) early 19th centuries (20).
