Description

The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes two very slight banks, 114m long and 5m wide, having the appearences of being ploughed out. It may be the fragmentary remains of ridge and furrow, but this is unlikely as there appears to be no other such remains in the area. It is more likely to be caused by much more recent agricultural activities, such as ploughing or access down through this field. Aerial photographs from 1946 show this field divided up and probably improved at this time (20).
