Description

The National Trust Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 gives this location for the set of lead sculptures by Nost which were moved from niches in the clipped hedge of Bridgeman's parterre on the south lawn. Later six were put on the parapet of the Temple of Concord and Victory and one on the top of Grenvilles' Column. Four of these statues have been located at Anglesey Abbey after they were sold in the 1920s estate sales (18).
