Description

The National Trust's Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 notes the drive created in 1760s which ran from the New Inn to the Oxford Lodge (now the route of the Dadford Road). The eastern end was straightened in 1775 and the faint trace that remains forms the southern limit of the ridge and furrow (CAS 42080608). This drive replaced the old road from the New Inn to the Lake Pavillions (B18).
