Description

The National Trust Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 noted a small (1.5m diameter) undershot Pellton water wheel at the bottom of a deep domed brick chamber below the retaining wall of the Eleven Acre Lake dam/cascade. The wheel is linked to a pump or generator at the top of the chamber. Formerly powered by a strong jet of water from the bottom of the lake (B13).
